Transport for London timetable changes for bank holiday weekend

Transport for London has announced a series of changes to services on the London Underground and Overground network this weekend.

Here are the Underground line closures that will be in place this weekend:

Bakerloo line

Saturday May 1 and Sunday May 2

No service between Queen's Park and Harrow & Wealdstone

Rail replacement bus services will run.

Monday May 3

No service between Queen's Park and Harrow & Wealdstone until 12:00

Rail replacement bus services will run. On Monday morning, please use London Overground services between Willesden Junction and Queen's Park/Euston for travel towards central London.

District line

Saturday May 1, Sunday May 2 and Monday May 3

No service between Tower Hill and West Ham

Use alternative Tube, local or replacement bus services.

Rail replacement buses will run between Tower Hill and Barking via Canning Town.

Hammersmith & City line

Saturday May 1, Sunday May 2 and Monday May 3

No service on the entire line

Use alternative Tube, local or replacement bus services. Rail replacement buses will run between Tower Hill and Barking via Canning Town.

Piccadilly line

Until spring 2022

Trains will not stop at South Kensington

The District and Circle lines will stop and the station will remain open. Find out more information and travel advice.

Northern line

Saturday May 1, Sunday May 2 and Monday May 3

No service between Moorgate and Kennington

Use alternative Tube services and local bus routes.

London Overground

Saturday May 1 and Sunday May 2

No service between Watford Junction and Euston

Use alternative Tube services or local bus routes. Rail replacement bus services will run.

Saturday May 1, Sunday May 2 and Monday May 3

No service between Romford and Upminster

Use local bus routes 165, 248 or 370.

No service between Highbury & Islington and Shadwell and between Surrey Quays and New Cross

Use alternative London Overground services and local bus routes between Highbury & Islington and Dalston Kingsland. Rail replacement bus services will run between Dalston Kingsland/Junction and Shadwell. For New Cross, use London Overground services to New Cross Gate, then walk or use local bus routes.

Monday May 3

No service between Watford Junction and Willesden Junction until 12:00

Use alternative Tube services or local bus routes. Rail replacement bus services will run.

Tuesday May 4, Wednesday May 5 and Thursday May 6

No service between Hackney Downs and Chingford after 22:45

Use alternative Tube services. Rail replacement bus services will run.

DLR

Saturday May 1, Sunday May 2 and Monday May 3

No service between Poplar and Beckton

Rail replacement bus services will run between Canary Wharf and Beckton.

TfL Rail

Sunday May 2

Reduced service between Paddington and Hayes & Harlington

Trains will not stop at Acton Main Line, West Ealing and Hanwell.

Saturday May 1, Sunday May 2 and Monday May 3

No service between Liverpool Street and Shenfield

Tickets will be accepted on bus route 25 between Stratford and Ilford. Rail replacement buses will run.

Buses and roads

Saturday May 1

Protest in central London

From 12:00 on Saturday 1 May, there will be protests in central London. Demonstrators are expected to form, which may impact on road access. Delays are expected. Customers are advised to use public transport where possible.

Retro car rally in Chelsea Embankment

On Saturday 1 May, there will be a Retro Car Rally in Chelsea Embankment from 18:00 to 19:00. There will be approximately 50 vehicles present.

Until 22 May

Kingston closures

There will be a series of overnight directional closures on the A3 between Hook Underpass and the Kingston Bypass. Works will take place Monday to Friday between 22:00 and 05:00 with all restrictions removed during the day. This is while we carry out essential maintenance. Diversion routes will be clearly signed, however you are advised to plan ahead and use alternative routes where possible. For the latest information on how roads are operating in your area check before you travel.

Santander cycles

The following docking stations will be out of service this weekend:

  • Abingdon Green, Westminster
  • Prince Albert Road, Regent's Park
  • Ram Street, Wandsworth
  • Rossmore Road, Marylebone
  • Seville Street, Knightsbridge
