Police have tracked down and arrested a male after a vicious assault in Thamesmead which left the victim with stab injuries.
Officers had been investigating the attack, which took place last week, during a week of action against violence crime, and were hunting a suspect in his 20s.
The incident saw the male seriously assault his victim, who sustained several serious injuries, including stab wounds.
Belvedere Police said that on April 26, officers successfully tracked down and arrested a male in his 20s.
He was taken to a south London police station where the investigation continues.
Met Police said police in Thamesmead and Belvedere have been targeting violent offenders throughout the week as part of Operation Sceptre week.
It is thought that dispersal orders authorised in Greenwich and Bexley this week are linked to the incident, and a predicted bout of antisocial behaviour.
Belvedere Police said the week had been "very productive," and that the dispersal zones had "reduced the risk of violent offenders."
