Are you the best chef you know?
That is the question being posed by the makers of a new TV show coming to the BBC soon that seeks to uncover some of the best home chefs from south London and across the UK.
"We are looking for people who love cooking to take part in a new cooking series that gives you the opportunity to showcase your skills," a spokesperson for the public broadcasters said.
"You don’t need a Michelin Star, or even to work in the food industry- we want to hear from anyone who has a love of food who is looking for their big break!"
The show will likely build on the success of hit BBC cooking series like Masterchef that also features amateur chefs compete for recognition under the scrutiny of world-famous chefs and food critics.
The timing of the prospective series could not be more apt, with millions of Britons rediscovering their passion for cooking during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Indeed, one YouGov poll found that 91 per cent of UK residents said they aimed to cook at least the same amount or more during 2021 than the previous year of lockdown, despite the reopening of so many restaurants across the country recently.
