HOMEOWNERS can add nearly £50,000 to the value of their house in just one week for an outlay of less than £4,000. A study by The Federation of Master Builders , the UK's largest trade association, and the HomeOwners Alliance found that knocking down a wall to create a 'super trendy' open plan kitchen costs an average of just £3,500.
